Tape Backup Service

Using dedicated HP SureStore or Sun StorEdge DD-3 tape drives and cartridges, our tape backup service is an end-to-end outsourced data backup service for SMEs.

Supported Applications:

  • Solaris UNIX ufsdump command (Solaris)
  • Linux/BSD (dump command)
  • Veritas Backup Exec
  • Veritas Backup Exec SQL Agent (requires custom programming)

Services Included:

  • Backup process verification
  • Customer to help define what constitutes a successful backup process
  • Monthly tape data verification. Customer to provide data verification procedures
  • Add new file names and/or directories for backup
  • Data restoration upon request (see service agreement for details of service)
  • Insert necessary tapes for restoration as identified by customer initiate restore process

Sun StorEdge 4mm DDS-3 Tape Drive
The 4mm DDS-3 tape drive triples its predecessor's capacity at 12GB, making it a superior solution for workstation backup and archive, as well as data distribution and interchange, for customers in any industry. With data compression, you can store up to 24GB per drive. Includes 10 tapes.

HP SureStore Tape Drive
Comes in 24GB or 40GB native storage capacity, includes 10 data cartridges and 1 DDS cleaning cartridge.

Disk Backup Service

Based on Iomega's revolutionary Removable Rigid Disk (RRD) Technology, we are now able to leverage on the Iomega REV hard drive to have faster backup speed, greater reliability and expandability for our managed backup service.

The Iomega REV 35GB/90GB (35GB native) drive system is excellent for SMEs requiring long shelf life for reliable backups and archiving. It provides a good replacement for tape and other backup solutions requiring larger backup capacity, reliability and better data transfer performance. This service is available for servers on Win 2000/2003 only. Includes 3 backup disk cartridges.

Optional rental of Veritas backup software, including Veritas Backup Exec Server, Enterprise Server, Database Backup Agent, Open File System and Intelligent Disaster Recovery.

Tape Media Management
Tape media management (scheduled or on-demand) for 1 tape per drive Put new or recycled tapes into jukebox or tape device on a weekly basis or a monthly basis Remove tapes from a jukebox or tape device Catalog and place removed tapes in on-site Webvisions-provided tape storage container.
